Whitney is a Neuroscience Ph.D. student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, working in the laboratory of Dr. Gail Robertson.Whitney studies the structure/function relationships of the voltage-gated potassium channels and is interested in how ion channels control excitability in neurons and cardiac cells. Whitney is proud of her Puerto Rican, Afro-Latinx, and Hispanic heritage. Her long-tern career goal is to become a researcher and professor, while also being an active advocate for underrepresented minorities in STEM.
