To help prepare the next generation of scientists in biophysics, the Black In Biophysics group is holding a weekly virtual journal club called Xtal (Crystal) Talks. This is an opportunity to:
learn more about the field of biophysics, particularly structural biology
build your professional network; and
increase your competitiveness for graduate/professional degree programs
This student run journal club will begin June 28, 2023. The first meeting will include a brief overview of the format of the journal club, and links will be provided for tips for reading and presenting a structural biology paper. Once a month, we will have guest lectures from faculty in the field of structural biology. You will also be integrated in a virtual biophysics community. If you are interested, complete the registration using the link in the attached flyer and feel free to forward.
*Promote diversity and inclusion within the biophysics community *Provide mentorship and guidance for aspiring Black biophysicists *Facilitate networking opportunities and foster collaborations * Advocate for equity and accessibility in biophysics research and education * Support research and outreach efforts focused on addressing health disparities
